GEMOSS Wins Special Prize in Baltic Family Firm Champions Ceremony

On June 30, in Tartu, the Signet Bank was proud to sponsor the Baltic Family Firm Champions 2023 event.  The primary goal of the event is to enhance an understanding of family-owned enterprises and their regional importance.  Emphasis has been placed on companies that have been nurtured by generations, have powerful traditions, and also have far-reaching goals.  This year, for the first time, Signet presented the Distinguished Family Business 2023 special prize.

The prize was received by GEMOSS, which was honoured for its sustainable and promising family firm management.

We support the growth of companies in Latvia every day by emitting debt obligations and issuing loans.  In practice, we have found that the value of a company is strengthened by consolidated and family-based management teams.  GEMOSS is an excellent example of a family that has established and developed a profitable local company for the past 30 years.  We wish the company and its owners ongoing and endless enthusiasm, and we congratulate them upon receiving the Distinguished Family Business 2023 award!

GEMOSS has more than 240 employees and six outlets in Rīga, Liepāja, Valmiera and Tallinn.  The company also has a large logistical centre and manufacturing entity.

Signet Bank was founded in 1991 and is one of Latvia’s first independent banks. The bank’s strategy focuses on providing financing and capital management services to local entrepreneurs and their businesses. Since the start of 2021, Signet Bank has provided customers with almost EUR 500 million of financing in the form of loans and bonds. Signet Bank’s shareholders are nine Latvian and international private investors, of whom the biggest is Signet Acquisition III (25%), whose sole shareholder is US investor Aleksandrs Solovejs; AS RIT Group (19.50 %), a Latvian company owned by the Rapoport family, and SIA Reglink (15.93 %), founded by banker Irīna Pīgozne.
