For the second year in a row, Signet Bank has supported the contemporary art festival Riga Art Week (RAW), which took place this year from May 25 to 31 with an even more extensive program of events and a larger group of international participants, further strengthening Riga’s place on the European cultural map. This year’s program placed special emphasis on international guests and interdisciplinary events. As part of RAW, Riga welcomed artists and curators from the United Kingdom, Germany, Lithuania, Switzerland, Estonia, the Netherlands, and other countries.
The first year of Riga Art Week (RAW) demonstrated that Riga has both the infrastructure and the professional capacity to create a contemporary art event of international significance. In its second year, we are expanding the program and the circle of international participants, continuing to strengthen Riga’s position on the European cultural calendar. Our goal is to develop RAW as a long-term platform that attracts new artists, curators, and cultural professionals every year, emphasizes RAW co-founder Elīna Drāke.

RAW brings together galleries, artists, curators, and cultural organizations at more than 25 venues across the city, offering over 50 events – exhibitions, performances, lectures, workshops, and special evening events – in Riga.
Continuing this successful collaboration, this year as well, on May 28, Gallery Night took place at the Signet Bank premises, where anyone interested had the opportunity to explore the bank’s corporate art collection and enjoy a special contemporary art performance led by Darja Popolitova – the workshop “3D Jewellery Fortune Telling”, which took place somewhere between a 3D modeling session and a magical ritual.
A sustainable cultural environment thrives where there are bold ideas, a professional community, and a long-term vision. Signet Bank’s contemporary art collection has also been built on the conviction that art can spark dialogue, broaden perspectives, and enrich the environment in which we live and work. That is why it is important for us, for the second year in a row, to support RAW – an initiative that strengthens the presence of contemporary art in Riga, promotes the city’s international recognition, and creates space for new ideas and talents, notes Ineta Done, a member of Signet Bank’s board.
