On October 6, 2022, ATTA Centre will host the Baltic Capital Markets Conference, which will be attended by capital market experts and representatives of local businesses. The event will bring together professionals of the investment community for a full day of insights, ideas, and networking.
More than 30 experts from investment banks, audit, legal firms and accountancy offices will cover a wide range of industry topics. Local and foreign entrepreneurs will be able to get insight into the capital market industry and discover new opportunities to raise financial resources. In addition, affluent entrepreneurs will share their personal stories revealing how the capital market helped drive their company growth.
Baltic Capital Markets Conference will present different topics in four parts. The first part will discuss stock market trends, Baltic IPOs in 2021 and 2022, stocks as an opportunity to promote public recognition of a company. The second part will cover the issue of bonds – bond market trends in the Baltics, advantages of bonds, practical tips for successful bond issuance. In the third part, Baltic institutional investors will join in the discussion of the growing local retail investor base. In conclusion, we will look at “life before and after the capital market” – getting ready for IPO, things to consider and valuable tips for companies that plan to quote their shares or bonds on the stock exchange, a guide to a successful post-IPO financial life.
The potential of the capital market in Latvia has so far been underestimated and underused. Capital market development is one of the FCMC’s strategic priorities. We have been working intensively – both on our own and together with partners – to implement our 10-step program for the development of Latvia’s capital market. Any initiative that puts important capital market issues on the industry agenda and brings forward proposals in constructive discussions, also evaluating the experience of other countries, should be welcomed and supported.
Santa Purgaile, Chairwoman of the Financial and Capital Market Commission (FCMC)
Growing interest of entrepreneurs over the past year confirms that raising financing through stocks and bonds in Baltic capital market is an important and relevant topic. Number of success stories prove that the Baltic capital market serves as an important stepping stone in creating value and public image of local companies. These facts prompted the organizers of Baltic Capital Markets Conference to gather parties interested in development of Baltic capital market in one place.
