For the second time, the Baltic Sustainability Forum and Awards ceremony will be held to highlight the most significant achievements in promoting sustainable business and to show the growing role of innovation in sustainability, which this year is supported by Signet Bank.
The Baltic Sustainability Forum is a meeting place for international and local experts in sustainability innovation to exchange knowledge of putting sustainability innovations into practice, while the Baltic Sustainability Awards is the Baltic level award for companies, organizations, startups and individuals to celebrate innovation in sustainability and inspire further breakthroughs.
This year the forum will offer talks and discussions on the latest trends in sustainability innovation in three main content blocks.
The first content block of the forum “Corporate Sustainability as a Strategy” will provide insight into how to put sustainable practices at the forefront of business strategy, as well as measure the impact of the changes introduced. The discussions will also address the question of what are the main responsibilities of the company’s sustainability officer. Nora Pastore, Sustainability Officer at Signet Bank, will also share her opinion at this panel discussion.
In the second content block “Sustainability in the Public Sector”, Baltic policy makers and industry experts will discuss the main challenges and the role of the public sector in ensuring green transformation. This block will also focus on how to build a sustainable urban environment.
Since technological developments can provide new solutions to existing challenges, the third content block “Sustainability and Technology” will discuss trends in the development of Baltic startups in the field of climate technologies, access to capital, and best practices for corporate innovation.
At the end of the event, the annual Baltic Sustainability Awards Ceremony 2022 will be held to salute the most outstanding achievements in sustainability among enterprises, startups, state institutions, as well as public and private organizations. This year, more than 240 applications were submitted for the award from all over the Baltic States in three categories: “Changemakers”, where the brightest ambassadors of sustainability will be determined by the public vote, while the winners in the categories “Environmental Impact” and “Green Innovation” will be selected at the Baltic level by a jury of international experts, which also includes Signet Bank’s Sustainability Officer Nora Pastore, who will evaluate the applications received.
The organizers emphasize that the aim of the initiative is to raise awareness among companies and the public that sustainability means much more than just impact on nature, therefore, when evaluating the submitted initiatives and choosing the winner, the jury will consider not only the impact on the environment, but also governance and social aspects.
The Baltics’ biggest sustainability and innovation community gathering will take place on 30 November at Splendid Palace, Riga.
