The charity initiative “Esi Piemērs” or “Be an Example” was launched by ultramarathon runner and Guinness World Record holder Arvis Sprude. This summer, Arvis achieved a Guinness World Record for the most kilometers cycled in seven days, during which he also initiated the “Be an Example” project to raise funds in support of cancer patients’ treatments.
For the third consecutive year, Signet Bank proudly supports Arvis Sprude in achieving his professional goals and, even more so, his noble mission to help others. This Christmas, the “Be an Example” project will take place in the city of Kuldiga, at the Kalku Street Neighborhood Christmas Market “Ziemassvētku DUNA.” On December 20th, Arvis will begin a 24-hour cycling challenge on a stationary bike, inspiring others with his strength and determination.
This year’s goal is to raise funds to purchase sports equipment for the Kuldīga Preschool Educational Institution “Bitīte.” The equipment will help children enrolled in special education programs to develop by experiencing the joy of movement and improving their physical and emotional well-being. Combining sports, charity, and inspiration, “Be an Example” serves as a symbol of determination and community support.
It is important to support initiatives that inspire and create positive outcomes and emotions. Arvis and his “Be an Example” project unite sports, good will, and determination to help children enjoy a fulfilling and active childhood. Christmas is a special time when everyone take part in creating miracles, and we are proud to participate in this project to bring joy to the children of Kuldīga.
Ineta Done, Member of the Signet Bank Management Board
I am thrilled about the success of the summer project, which proved how much we can achieve together by combining our efforts to help those in need. This project means much more to me than just reaching goals—it is an opportunity to continue inspiring and helping, creating joy and hope for those who need it most. This time, the project’s aim is to help the children of PII ‘Bitīte’ by providing them with sports equipment that enables development and provides the joy of movement. Christmas is a special time for gifting kindness and creating miracles, and this project is the perfect way to make that happen. Seeing children’s smiles and knowing that together we can change their daily lives and give them hope is the greatest reward for me. A huge thank you to my partners, because without their support, none of this would be possible. I am especially grateful to Signet Bank, who have stood by my side for three years—their trust and involvement give me the strength to continue this project and help even more people. Together, we prove that by working as one, we can achieve far more than we ever could individually.
