Liga Spunde (1990)

Spunde’s work The Hands (2020) is part of the multimedia installation There’s No Harm In Any Blessings that is a reflection on relationships, sense of security, overprotection and faith in the supernatural as a defence strategy. The work was created for the International Contemporary Art Festival Survival Kit 11.

Spunde graduated from the Department of Visual Communication of the Latvian Art Academy in 2016. The artist creates multimedia installations, where personal stories are closely intertwined with a carefully constructed fiction. Spunde has participated in various exhibitions and art projects in Latvia and abroad.
