On June 17 and 18, the Latvian Academy of Art will host the 6th International Scientific Conference, “Research Methods in Cultural (Social) Anthropology for Understanding Creative Processes and Exceptional Cases,” supported by Signet Bank.
The conference will bring together more than 40 researchers, doctoral students, and academic professionals from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Norway, and Slovakia, representing various universities and research institutions. Over the course of two days, participants will discuss research methods in cultural and social anthropology, creative processes, and their significance in understanding societal development.
Agita Gritāne, Director of the Scientific Research Center at the Art Academy of Latvia, emphasizes:
This year marks the sixth international scientific conference organized by the Art Academy of Latvia, underscoring its significant role in promoting interdisciplinary research and academic collaboration. The conference focuses on the human being and creative processes as driving forces behind cultural and societal development, highlighting the potential of anthropological research methods to offer new perspectives on the understanding of art, culture, and social phenomena. We are grateful to Signet Bank for its support, which helps strengthen the dialogue between science, art, and society.
Signet Bank supports long-term initiatives that promote the exchange of knowledge, education, and cultural development, fostering dialogue between the academic community, the creative industries, and society.
Ineta Done, a member of the Signet Bank board, notes:
Art, culture, and science help society better understand itself and the processes taking place around it. By supporting the Latvian Academy of Art’s international scientific conference, we are investing in a platform where researchers, ideas, and experiences from various fields come together. We believe that interdisciplinary dialogue is an essential prerequisite for new insights and innovations that promote the sustainable development of society.
Over the years, the International Scientific Conference of the Art Academy of Latvia has become an important forum for researchers in the arts, culture, and the humanities, fostering academic collaboration within the Baltic region and beyond. This year’s conference focuses on anthropological research approaches and their application in the study of creative processes, cultural practices, and socially significant exceptional cases.
