Signet Bank Supports Ultra-Cyclist Arvis Sprude in His Guinness World Record Attempt

For the third year in a row, Signet Bank is supporting and following the journey of the determined and ambitious ultra-cyclist Arvis Sprude, who represents Latvia in various European and global championships. Arvis has achieved numerous podium positions and has been the first to represent Latvia in several challenging distances. In 2024, Arvis claimed the championship title in the 24-hour race “24h del Montello” in Italy and recently returned from Croatia, where he became the runner-up in the 12-hour European Championship. Arvis is also the European champion in the 500-mile ultra-cycling distance and earned third place at the 2023 World Ultra-Cycling Championships, among other accolades.

In 2022, Arvis became a Guinness World Record holder by setting the record for the “Greatest distance cycled in one week”, covering 3,559 km. This record has since been surpassed by 60 km, but Arvis is determined to reclaim it for Latvia. This time, his Guinness World Record attempt will coincide with a charity campaign titled “Esi piemērs!” or “Be an Example!”, which aims to raise funds for oncology patients.

As part of the “Be an Example” charity project, Arvis plans to cycle 3,620 kilometers in seven days, from June 29 to July 6, surpassing his previously set record. On his path to the Guinness World Record, Arvis invites donations for cancer patients via the platform ziedot.lv.

Last year, Signet Bank was my biggest support during a time when I struggled to find the emotional and moral motivation to keep going. Details of the Guinness World Record Attempt:

Start: June 29th, 7:00 PM in Kuldīga, at the Kaļķu Street quarter. Throughout the week, Arvis can be seen on the Kuldīga–Skrunda highway [P116].
