Signet Bank Supports Largest Sailing Regatta in Latvia

The Signet Bank is proud to announce its support for the largest sailing event in Latvia, the Gulf of Riga Regatta (GoRR). It will begin on June 25 and continue for one week. There will be five phases in the competition, after which the best sailing champions in Latvia will be identified and the Livonia Cup will be presented.

The Gulf of Riga Regatta will start in Ventspils with a parade of the yachts of competitors on the Venta River.  The competition as such will be launched on June 26, and the first “SIGNET BANK” phase of the competition will take place in the waters that abut Ventspils.

GoRR is an annual and major international regatta in Latvia, and it is usually held for one week after the Summer Solstice.  We have become a supporter of this event, and in honour of this, one of the phases has been declared to be the “SIGNET BANK” phase.  We wish all teams the very best of luck as they seek to climb to the heights of the competition!

The pedestal at the conclusion of the event will be taken by the GoRR 2023 winners in each group and the champions of sailing in Latvia.  ORC group teams will receive the Livonia Cp.  It will be presented to the fastest boast in the fleet – those which have spent the least time on the water during all five phases of the process.  In English this is known as “first boat home” – the one that is fastest in crossing the finish line.
