Signet Bank Supports “MĀLS” – One of the Highlights of the “Cēsis – Latvian Capital of Culture 2025” Program

The year 2025 in Latvia is marked by the initiative “Cēsis – Latvian Capital of Culture 2025”, with Cēsis becoming one of the country’s most important hubs for art, creativity, and cultural events. As a long-standing supporter of sustainable values and local ideas, Signet Bank is proud to continue its partnership with the Cēsis Municipality – contributing to activities that enrich the cultural landscape, inspire communities, and strengthen local identity.

Among the initiatives receiving special support from the bank is “MĀLS” – a major emotionally charged production that stands out as one of the central events in the Capital of Culture program.

Taking place on August 16 and 17 at the Cēsis Castle Park stage, “MĀLS” will be a large-scale multimedia performance. Intertwining song, dance, craftsmanship, and industry, it will present a unified artistic narrative tracing clay’s journey from the depths of the earth to the stars.

More than a cultural event, “MĀLS” is a story about humanity’s connection to a material that shapes our daily lives, traditions, mindset, and environment. Over 2,000 participants – including renowned musical groups Auļi and Latvian Voices, choirs, dance troupes, actors, and artists across disciplines – will create an immersive experience where clay takes on voice, movement, and form. Audiences can expect a rich blend of sensations – from the raw rhythm of industrial sounds to the delicate tones of the marimba, from ancient symbols to contemporary perspectives on the world.
